Rita Sønderbygaard is often armed with binoculars and a camera, searching for that moment when the lighting will allow for a moment of extraordinary beauty. The swans are the bravest standing somewhat in the background while the gulls hover over the landscape.
A winter of ice packs in the fjord have resulted in pure works of ice art. "I waited until the sun was just right, so the light made the ice completely transparent," says Rita Sønderbygaard.
With attention to light and detail, even a water edge can become pictorial piece of poetry.
