In May 2016 Nissum Fjord was approved pilot project Nature Park Nissum Fjord, and work is being done to have the area appointed nature park under the designation Danish Nature Parks in the autumn of 2017.
The work with the nature park is based on 10 years’ work carried out by the Nissum Fjord Network through different projects, which were implemented by the municipalities of Holstebro and Lemvig as well as the Nature Agency Western Jutland. This cooperation will also continue under the management of Nature Park Nissum Fjord.
